Diakonia Transformatif: Kepemimpinan Kristiani sebagai Praksis Pemberdayaan Komunitas dalam Horizon Eklesiologi Publik

Abstract

The reduction of diakonia to sporadic charitable practices has eroded the transformative power of Christian leadership in contemporary Indonesia. This article offers a theological framework of “transformative diakonia” as a leadership paradigm that empowers communities within the horizon of public ecclesiology. Integrating John N. Collins’ reinterpretation of ???????? as a prophetic mission with liberation theology and contemporary public theology, this article argues that authentic Christian leadership does not lie in secular transformational models adopted without theological refinement but rather in a diaconal mode that positions the community as the subject, not the object, of transformation. Richard Osmer’s theology of praxis is employed to construct the argument. Four stages of discussion are developed: the genealogy of transformative diakonia, leadership as a diaconal mode, empowerment from the charitable to the structural, and the horizon of public ecclesiology. The contribution of this article lies in the formulation of a theological foundation that liberates Christian leadership from secular managerial borrowings while offering an empowerment praxis rooted in the perichoretic Trinity and directed toward Indonesia’s pluralistic public sphere.

Reduksi diakonia menjadi praktik karitatif yang sporadis telah menggerus daya transformatif kepemimpinan Kristiani di Indonesia kontemporer. Artikel ini menawarkan kerangka teologis “diakonia transformatif” sebagai gramatika kepemimpinan yang memberdayakan komunitas dalam horizon eklesiologi publik. Mengintegrasikan pembacaan ulang John N. Collins atas ???????? sebagai pengutusan profetis dengan teologi pembebasan dan teologi publik kontemporer, artikel ini berargumen bahwa kepemimpinan Kristiani yang autentik tidak terletak pada model transformasional sekuler yang diadopsi tanpa pemurnian teologis, melainkan pada modus diakonal yang menempatkan komunitas sebagai subjek, bukan objek, transformasi. Pendekatan teologi praksis Richard Osmer digunakan untuk menyusun argumen. Empat tahap pembahasan dikembangkan: genealogi diakonia transformatif, kepemimpinan sebagai modus diakonal, pemberdayaan dari karitatif ke struktural, dan horizon eklesiologi publik. Kontribusi artikel ini terletak pada perumusan landasan teologis yang membebaskan kepemimpinan Kristiani dari pinjaman manajerial sekuler sekaligus menawarkan praksis pemberdayaan yang berakar pada Trinitas perikoretis dan ditujukan pada ruang publik plural Indonesia.
