Abstract

Transformational leadership has been widely adopted in church settings to strengthen ministry effectiveness; however, this approach tends to remain leader-centered and has not adequately integrated communal and theological dimensions. This study aims to map that conceptual gap and propose an integrative church leadership framework through a scoping review of eleven articles retrieved from Google Scholar, DOAJ, and Crossref. Thematic analysis of the literature reveals three dimensions that consistently appear yet are frequently discussed in isolation: transformational leadership, church community, and theology. Drawing on the synthesis of these three dimensions, the study proposes the CONNECT Model as an integrative framework linking empowering, caring, and evaluating within the leadership dimension; participation, belonging, and mutuality within the community dimension; and calling, meaning, and membership within the theological dimension. Church transformation is understood as a relational process emerging from the dynamic interaction of all three dimensions rather than from the leader's capacity alone. Further empirical research is needed to examine the validity of this model across diverse denominational contexts.
