Abstrak
This article examines the conceptual failure of Luciano Floridi's distributed moral responsibility model in explaining moral accountability within AI-driven business systems. When business decisions such as loan denials, employment terminations, or exploitative dynamic pricing are made by algorithms, moral responsibility tends to disperse across a long chain of actors, from developers and corporations to regulators and users, producing an infinite regress in which no single party can genuinely be held accountable. Through a critical dialogue between Aristotelian and Kantian moral agency theory and Pauline theology in Romans 14:12, this article argues that Christian ethics offers a distinctive solution through the transcendent moral subject, namely God as final judge, who ontologically closes this regress. This framework does not replace existing legal and AI governance mechanisms but provides a theological foundation that prevents business actors from hiding behind the neutrality of algorithmic systems. The article offers practical implications in the form of personal accountability principles for Christian business practitioners in the age of automated decision-making.
